In this episode we will make a bed inspired by Barbie . I am using simple easy to find materials to make this bed, at home feel free to swap some of the materials, this video is just to give you an idea of what you can make at home.

MATERIALS:
  • Foam board
  • Decorative paper
  • Rope or ribbon
  • Decorative elements: paint, glitter, plastic gems, stickers
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • For the bedding I used: fabric, ribbon, cotton and thread and needle

STEPS(S):
  • For the mattress
  • We will use five pieces of foam board: One 15x31 cm, Two 15x4 cm, and Two 31x4 cm
  • Place a 15 x 4 cm piece at the head of the bed
  • Then place the second 15 x 4 cm piece at the foot of the bed
  • Place the 31x4 cm pieces on either side
  • Reinforce the joins of the bed by placing glue on the inside borders
  • For the headboard and the foot-board I am using a template I drew.
  • If you want to use the same template you can download it from simplekidscrafts.com
  • Copy the template unto the foam board
  • Cut
  • To give the headboard and foot-board color you can paint or use scrap-booking paper
  • Cover the borders of the bed using rope or ribbon
  • And decorate using scrap-booking paper, plastic gems, stickers and fabric paint.
  • Attach the headboard and the foot-board to the bed
  • For the covers I used a piece of fabric and glued on ribbon on three sides
  • I made two pillows and glued on heart cutouts on the top and plastic gems.
  • I also drew the letter B for Barbie.
